Mic, full name Michael Alan Meyers, is a Filipino-American producer songwriter. Mic was born in Olongapo Philippines and at the age of 6, he and his mother came to America to be reunited with his father in Pheonix Arizona. But it was when his family moved to Denver Colorado, his interest in music exploded. Influences from Rock and Rap, Mic learned to play the electric guitar, drums and later the piano at the age of 12. Eminem, Big L and Kanye West were some of his early inspirations. In high school he would write raps and produce beats for his group of friends under his then moniker, Maniac. In 2011, working as an industrial Electrician in New Jersey, he created THE OPEN MIC EP under his new artist name Mic working alongside industry professionals at KMA music and Alkatraxx studios for mixing and mastering. The EP had records such as High Standards and the Underdog which hit #9 on Nasty Nes' Rap Attack top 40 list among hip hop greats like T.I. and J. Cole. The EP was released late summer of 2011 under Datpiff. Mic now writes, produces, mixes and masters all his own music and for other various artists. He prides himself in being heavily involved in all aspects of the music industry and plans to head his own record label in the near future. "I just want my name in the credits behind big records and to be able to take care of my family."
